Sopron and its surroundings offer the visitor many varieties of tasty dishes typical of Hungary and its neighbours.

Dry white, full-bodied red and late picked dessert wines are all available from the Sopron vineyards. Combined with the local dishes, the region offers the visitor a gastronomical visiting card. Moreover, among the wide range of Sopron wines there is always one that suits each course of a full meal.

The Sopron Poncichters were industrious vintners, who grew beans between the rows of vines and enriched the range of local foods with such dishes as vintner’s cabbage or bean patties, to mention just a few.
